Consultation

consultation service for parents and education professionals

We provide a consultation service for parents/carers and education professionals, to discuss concerns, problem solve issues and identify ways forward using solution focused approaches.

Examples:

* Discussing concerns about a child's behaviour and developing effective behaviour approaches.

* Planning support and strategies for a student with specific learning difficulties.

* Developing a programme to support a young person with social communication needs and anxiety.

Consultations can be carried out in person, on the phone, or on Zoom.

Consultations do not involve direct work with a child/young person.

Please contact us for more information and to discuss your consultation needs.

I have known Debra professionally for many years. She has worked as an independent educational psychologist for our school for about 9 years. It has always been a real pleasure to work with Debra as she is extremely efficient and deals with enquiries that I send to her immediately. In all the years I have worked with Debra I have only ever had positive feedback from all the parents that I have recommended send their child to see her. She is extremely thorough both in her assessments and in the follow up reports that she writes. Her observations of pupils is always very accurate, insightful and allows parents and teachers to have a far clearer understanding of both the strengths and weaknesses of any specific pupil. Debra has also done a lot of access arrangement assessments for us which have helped clarify the exact needs of our pupils in term of exam arrangements. This is an important part of the work within my department and Debra’s input has always been key. I am always very happy to recommend Debra and hope our professional relationship continues for many more years!
