Debra provided a safe and comfortable environment conducive to sharing and confronting difficulties, challenges, feelings and thoughts. Her professional manner combined with her ability to provide humour, nonjudgmental feedback and empathic approach allowed for an open and honest dialogue and exchange of ideas. Over the course of our sessions together Debra provided different strategies and tools to address challenging situations, to improve mindfulness and self assessment. She helped me gain a different perspective which improved my self confidence and feeling of control over my life. These new life skills were incredibly powerful and helpful in decreasing my anxiety , empowering me to take steps to identify tangible and attainable goals and eventually make changes. Throughout the process, Debra’s endless guidance and patience and ability to reframe and restructure my thoughts and feelings empowered and taught me to be kind to myself and adapt these tools and skills to new situations.
I undertook an assessment with Debra for dyslexia. Throughout the process Debra was calm and kind, which helped ease my nerves. After the assessment I had 4 sessions of coaching with Debra. Throughout these sessions we worked on revision strategies, confidence, how to improve my recall and how to pace myself in exams. All of these skills I now use everyday. I found that Debra's style and personality was comforting and allowed me to really challenge myself and better my skills in learning. It was an invaluable experience that aided me in achieving my potential in my GCSEs. I thank Debra for all the help I received.
Our daughter is in year 11, and is preparing for her GCSE’s. Having ADHD and dyslexia, she needed support in developing better executive functioning skills. Debra’s guidance has been invaluable in helping my daughter understand how she works and importantly, how to recognise what works best for her and how to apply these new skills in context. Not only is Debra highly skilled and professional, she is also insightful. As a parent to four neurodiverse children, every conversation we have with Debra means I am better equipped to recognise what my children need. I am immensely grateful.
My daughter was initially a little reticent about starting ADHD coaching not really understanding how it could benefit her. Debra quickly put her at ease and worked with her on helping her learn how to help herself. The sessions gave my daughter a better understanding of how ADHD impacted her and focused on strategies to help her. Specifically they worked on task overwhelm, how to get motivated after the holidays and procrastination. My daughter felt Debra really listened to her and allowed space for self reflection. Debra was always really responsive to any questions I had and was a pleasure to deal with.
