We visited Debra for an assessment and I knew following our initial chat on the phone that Debra was the right person to assess C. Debra put C at ease straight away and C felt confident to complete all tasks set to the best of her ability. It was a long session for C but she enjoyed the interaction and felt this was a totally positive experience ( something we were apprehensive about as we didn’t want any labels to become a negative). Debra was truly professional in the way that she interacted with C and then chatted with us about her findings – a totally positive experience for us all as a family and the knock on effect is this has empowered C back in the classroom setting. Thank you for your support, experience and assistance with C.
Our thanks to Debra who made a very positive impact on F and was incredible at making sure he was at ease. In fact it is the first appointment we have come away from where F has not had major anxiety, a huge meltdown, or bitten us, so that is high praise indeed.
Debra’s professional but empathetic and gentle manner put my daughter at ease which meant the quality of information Debra was able to perceive made the report both accurate and tremendously useful. The report confirmed that my daughter had the cognitive ability to move on to further education which has been an enormous boost to her confidence.
It is not always easy to assess girls on the autistic spectrum, particularly girls who mask well as my daughter does. Debra’s experience with this constituency ensured that her observations were correct and my daughter recognised herself in these observations. Debra’s report has therefore been an important tool in helping her - and us - understand her diagnosis better.
Debra also made a number of practical recommendations and came up with creative solutions which had not occurred to us or to the professionals who work with our daughter. We have implemented some of these and they have made a positive difference.
Debra also spoke to me at length after the assessment and on the phone and gave me advice on how to go about getting support for my daughter, what questions to ask the support providers and what I should consider when looking at the next steps in my daughter’s life. We feel very fortunate to have found Debra and should my daughter need another assessment will be coming back to her.
We were fortunate enough to have Debra Raye carry out a full educational assessment on our daughter (who is in year 2) last term. Our daughter greatly enjoyed the time she spent with Debra and in fact asked if she could see her regularly! Feedback to me following the assessment was forthcoming and clear, as was the feedback from Debra during the meeting with teachers. The written assessment report was extremely useful and provided us with clear guidelines regarding next steps.
May I take the opportunity to thank Debra for the way she helped T through the whole experience, T said she was COOL!! Praise indeed
Many thanks again for your help and your very sensitive approach.
Thank you so much for your time and work on this report. This whole process has given C a sense of encouragement and support going forward in the school and towards exams so thank you for all that you have done.
Just wanted to say thank you so much for your time today, and for everything you did to assess M's needs. It was lovely to meet you, and we really appreciate your help. Many thanks
